Great bookWhat a story。 Hank is back and he and Mae are working a case together。 But what is Hank hiding。

This is one of those books that I have mixed feelings about。 I was glad that Hank came back。 However, I didn't like how their relationship is getting messed up because of some things。 At least this time Mae helps Hank with the case and they of course solve it。 Sadly the ending was not what I had hoped。 We will see how this plays out in the next book。 This is one of those books that I have mixed feelings about。 I was glad that Hank came back。 However, I didn't like how their relationship is getting messed up because of some things。 At least this time Mae helps Hank with the case and they of course solve it。 Sadly the ending was not what I had hoped。 We will see how this plays out in the next book。 。。。more

Done with。 No more! And when I got a phone call during Bobby Ray's meeting with his birth mother from Hank, I felt like I was wrapped up between a nightmare and a dream。Let me cut to the chase。Hank's best friend Jerry Truman is a local private investigator and he's got a HUGE case that includes a dead body。 Of course I've not stuck my nose in it because honestly it has nothing to do with me。 Those are the kinda murders I like, but now that Hank has told me he's back and helping Jerry, and get this。。。they need me to use my sleuthing skills to help them, it's now my business。One, because I love to snoop and two because by the sound of things, Hank Sharp misses me as much as I miss him。You see, this case will be a double win!At least that's what I thought until I'm the one staring into the barrel of a shot gun when I found out a little too much information。 (Amazon)Review:The characters are well rounded and well developed。 Hank is back, helping Jerry with his private investigation business。 Now he is asking for Mae help, and she could not be happier。 She has another murder to solve and she will need the Laundry Club Ladies help。 I can not wait to see what trouble will they get into this time。 The writing style flows smoothly and the book is a quick easy read。 The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there watching all the action。 The mystery was well plotted and there were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery。 I really like all the characters and enjoy the predicaments they get into。I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and provided my honest review。 。。。more

Wow! Just Wow!Another edge of your seat story by Tonya Kappes。 I love visiting Normal, Kentucky & spending time with Mae & her cohorts。 I’m so glad Hank is back。 I hated that he left & broke Mae’s heart。 Besides the main murder case, there are also two other threads dealing with Bobby Ray, & Hank。 Can’t wait for the next installment to find out what’s going on with that。

Karin

Who killed Ashley and Angus and why??? Certainly not the horses!!! I enjoyed the story and recommend the book。

The latest book in this series is the best one yet! It kept me guessing until the end, with Mae in more peril than she’s been before。 The ending with the biggest cliff hanger made me say, Wow! At times this cozy seemed more like a regular mystery。I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy。 I can’t wait to see what comes next。

Lanterns, Lakes, & Larceny by Tonya Kappes is so good!!! I always enjoy visiting Mae West and the Laundry Club Girls in Normal, Kentucky。 Hank’s back and asking Mae to help him with a case he’s investigating as a PI, there’s not supposed to be any murder just threats so when 2 people are killed can Mae figure out who done it before she’s next? I throughly enjoyed this book and believe you will too!!

Mae gets drawn into another adventure。 Hank comes back to town and has changed his appearance and is working with Jerry on a murder that they ask Mae to help solve 。 The Daniel Boon forest is the area all of this happens at and is a delightful area the author has created ! Friends who stick by Maes side and local events I’d love to attend !

What isn’t normal in Normal, Ky? Mae is at it again in another fun mystery。 This time her sleuthing skills are requested by an interesting and unexpected source。 We have one amateur sleuth, one great plot, several interesting characters, and plenty of twists and turns to keep those pages flipping! I highly recommend this read!

Tonya Kappes set this twenty-first book in her Camper & Criminals Cozy hours after the end of the previous book making for fun continuity。 The murder mystery has all the same elements that has made Kappes’s work a personal favorite: rich, well-developed characters, multiple homicides, clever mystery with several theories to explore, surprises and shocks, love and romance, and lots of southern charm of which Tonya is very familiar。 The relationship between Mae and Hank is renewed and is better suited as a partnership, then the previous dynamic as adversaries—cop vs civilian。 Added to the peripheral drama is the mystery that someone is looking for Hank, and the cliffhanger at the end will roll right into the next book。 Family and friends are always a key element with Mae’s foster brother dealing with his birth mother, her BFF/sister-in-law Abby dealing with her new married life, and Mae dealing with snoops, dogs, and campground headaches。 Despite there being a plethora of books in the series, each book, including this one, maintains a fresh feeling showing realistic ups, downs, and growth of characters through the natural passing of time。 Always entertaining with an additional bonus of easy-to-follow recipes (Southern Olive Nut Spread, Salsa and Corn Dumpling Soup, and Dutch Oven Stuffed Peppers), and Camping Hacks。Disclosure: I received an ARC from the author。 My review is voluntary with honest insights and comments。 。。。more
